Paid Internship: ITV News/ITN, Washington, D.C. $500 per month for 3 months, starting in April 2010, 5 days a week, 9am-5pm every day. The job requires a bright and highly motivated individual with a commitment to a career in television news and current affairs to play an important role in our team. The job involves research on both breaking stories and longer investigative films, finding and looking after guests, monitoring and recording TV feeds and other crucial production support.

The right person would be a team player, a hard worker, with a sense of humour. This is an exciting position for a person who needs to be thorough but efficient and ready to drop everything to react to a new development. You really have to be driven by hard news.

This person will quickly find him/herself part of a busy and productive team. Our 3 daily programmes are broadcast nightly in a peak slot on Britain's ITV, the most watched commercial network in the UK. It is made in London by Independent Television News (ITN), broadcast partner to both CNN and NBC. In fact ITN reports from the ITV News team in Iran recently led NBC’s network "Nightly News" Bulletin

Some TV production experience would be helpful but not essential.

This role is offered on an initial six month contract, with a break clause at three months.  The hours will most probably be 37.5 hours a week across weekdays, but there may be some requirements to work mornings, evenings or weekends, as either part of the regular hours or as overtime.  There will be opportunities to work overtime hours from home.
