We are now searching for an experienced in-house senior photo editor. The position will report into the vice president of production, Europe. Responsibilities will include:
- Working seamlessly with Producers across Europe to find, choose, size and deliver digital photos of the highest quality for European Travelzoo Top 20® lists and Websites (UK, France, Germany, Spain)
- Monitoring the Company’s digital photo editing standards
- Taking the lead on gathering images for special feature products
- Managing the digital photo library for Europe
- Coordinating and supervising staff
Candidate profile
- Degree educated (or equivalent) with a preferred specialization in Software Systems for Arts and Media/Multimedia /Graphic Design or Publishing
- Significant professional experience as Digital Photo/Image Editor for a major online publication business
- Experience managing staff
- Creative eye and artistic sensibility
- High degree of experience with digital photo editing software, in particular Adobe Photoshop Suite CS3
- Well-versed in current web and photo industry standards
- Capacity to communicate efficiently with multi-lingual staff based in Europe and US

Reporting to the research director for continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa (CEMEA), the research editor will generate ideas and define the parameters of research projects, support the sales effort and manage execution of large-scale projects. The job requires strong verbal skills—in particular, the ability to present editorial concepts clearly and persuasively and edit reports to a high standard—as well as the ability to analyse quantitative information.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and be a native speaker of English, with strong skills in a second European language. He or she will have several years’ experience in business journalism, editing and/or research, plus a sound understanding of international business, industry and management issues.
