Position
We are looking for an experienced broadcast reporter/video journalist with a strong foundation in international news reporting. Reporters with shooting and editing skills are highly encouraged to apply. Please note that while this position is based on a freelance contract, it is a permanent position. A showreel is required for preliminary selection.
This Brussels based position requires an experienced journalist who can research news stories covering events, conferences and policies at the various EU institutions, NATO and international NGOs and think tanks that would be of interest to an international audience. The reporter would then produce stories, upon approval by Assignment Desk, in the form of concise 2:30 minute news pakages. More details will be provided upon request.
The role requires a motivated self-starter who is able to find his/ her way around EU institutions and the think tank/NGOs circles in Brussels. The amount and flow of work will be consistent, averaging 12-15 stories per month. Occasional live reports will be requested by Newsroom during important conferences and breaking news events. An equipped camera person will be provided as well as logistical and production/post-production support.

This role will be responsible for creating content on XFM & LBC’s interactive products and at some points other brands within the Global Radio portfolio to increase audience size and improve user engagement. The role will also need to act-up in place of the Managing Editor when he/she is away.
